Inventory of Homes For Sale Increases Significantly

Buyers have endured a difficult several years since the pandemic due to high demand and low inventory. But the data says that the tides are beginning to change.

There are simply more homes up for grabs this year. The graph below shows the latest data from Realtor.com: in April 2024, there were significantly more properties on the market than there have been in the past four years:

As Realtor.com explains, There were 30.4% more homes actively for sale on a typical day in April compared with the same time in 2023, marking the sixth consecutive month of annual inventory growth.”

So What Does This Mean for You?

If you’ve been watching homes fly off the market in your neighborhood for the last few years and expect to have the same experience now that you’re ready to list your own, you might encounter some challenges. It’s more important than ever to trust the sale of your home to an expert in your local market––someone with decades of experience, accolades, and a marketing system that works.

On the flip side of the transaction experience, if you’ve been pining to make a move for some time, but have been intimidated by the cutthroat market for homebuyers and disappointed by low inventories, there isn’t a better time to link with one of our Buyer’s agents to begin your search.
